NIIT4CAD Project: Results

Deliverables

1) Prototype of a software module for subdivision surfaces integrated in the Solid Edge CAD system and in THINKDESIGN CAD System. Such integration will be extensible in the sense that it will allow the definition and exploration of new types of subdivision surfaces representations.

2) Prototype of software module to allow fast shape definition (design and editing of meshes for subdivision) and fast reverse engineering based on subdivision surfaces and using innovative devices. This module will be integrated in Solid Edge CAD system and in THINKDESIGN CAD System.

3) Prototypal wireless haptic devices, endowed with vibrotactile sensors, will be developed to enable an easy and intuitive 3D input/editing available at low cost and with low power consumption.
